My first year of teaching
My first year of teaching at Rainbow Creek Elementary was an enjoyable and very challenging one. Grade 1 is unique, and I loved the opportunity to see my philosophy of education come into action.
One of the memories that sticks out for me was to have students collaborate in a critical thinking challenge where students worked together to build a chair out of a variety of materials. Their depth of reflection was enlightening - they recognized that two hard parts of building the chair were to make the legs strong as well as working together as a team to complete the challenge.
